	Personally I feel that this movie better shows the pain of losing your brothers in arms. For those of you that have not served your country and lost those that were close to you, you may not know what that pain is like and that is what this movie tries to show people.	+1

	they are all great movies and in my opinion and impossible to say for sure which one is better. You could say that FMJ and Platoon were much grittier and showed the aspect of war better but I think that Vietnam was just much more of a hell hole then WW2 ever was.	0

	Stellar cast. Good score. Deserved the oscars. Shame it overshadowed a better movie at the time, ironically about the same subject and setting. excellent acting - rare nowadays with the amount of pulped fodder conveyor-belted to us these days. Watch out for the slow-stabbing scene, its a hideous reminder of what really happened there. Watch The Thin Red Line, released the same time, totally ignored because of the Speilberg gang has a bit more power in an industry - it is a business after all. all in all? a great film and if you havent seen it, watch it, its up there.	0

	You know everybody keeps telling me watch The Thin Red Line, but apart from that one line, i.e., The Universe Is Indifferent, I didnt care for it that much. Liked SPR much better. But maybe thats because Im a shallow patriot.	+2
